1. How can I begin capturing my screenGenerating a demo or tutorial is easy and straightforward. The steps in the following example show you how to create your demo or tutorial (for this example we will use a screenshot size of 450 x 500 pixels):
2. How can I generate/publish a demo? Please follow these steps to generate or publish your demo or tutorial:
3. How can I publish a demo to a website? If you wish to put your demo on your homepage or perhaps another website, then you will have to upload the demo files to a web server. 4. How can I change the time for slides or the whole demo? The display time of a slide is calculated using the parameters set in the menu "Project | Options". By adjusting the "Minimum Reading Time", "Mouse Cursor Speed", etc. you can alter the display time of a slide and the demo. 5. How can I turn the "Screenshot Wizard" options back on?If your "Screenshot Wizard" does not appear anymore, it has been disabled at some stage by someone. You can reactivate this option by clicking the menu "View | Show Screenshot Wizard". 6. How can I setup multiple interactive areas or objects? You can create these by using the draw objects of TurboDemo. For every drawn object you can easily assign an action (e.g. jump, open url, etc.). 7. How do I add hyperlinks?
If the user clicks on the defined area, the URL will be opened. As examples you can open external web pages from a demo or even start another demo. 8. How can I resize a project? After you have completed your project you are then able to alter the resolution size if required. You can shrink your project resolution size or enlarge it. This feature is accessible from the menu "File | Resize Project". We recommend that any resizing of projects is completed before you add any objects (e.g. notes, balloons, etc.) as the object positioning can be effected afterwards. 9. How can I insert sound into a slide?Sound can be added different ways:
Using either of these icons you will be prompted with the "Audio Wizard" which allows you to record or import a sound. The "Advanced Mode" of the wizard allows you to access the "Audio Editor" which has additional functions such as copy, cut, normalize and much more. 10. How can I hide or change the mouse cursor? You can hide the mouse cursor using this icon 11. The mouse cursor behaves odd after I changed it's position. To explain this, we need to explain how TurboDemo works:
12. What is a "Rollover"?A "Rollover" is an object that shows you a balloon or image if you move your mouse over a specific spot on the demonstration. This is normally used if you want to explain different parts on the screen without polluting it with notes and balloons that always remain on the slide. 13. When I play the demo there is no navigation. This happens usually if the demo is created in full screen. The problem is that the navigation bar is attached at the bottom or at the right side of the demonstration, therefore the navigation is just out of sight. As a workaround you could use either the resize option (menu "File | Resize Project"), which will reduce the project size for you so that you can see the navigation bar or alternatively you can select a hidden control panel when exporting your project. 14. How can I add screenshots to an existing project?Screenshots can be added to an existing project using the menu "Project | Add Screenshots". These new screenshots will be added directly to the end of your current project. If you wish to insert new screenshots at an exact point within your project, select the slide you want the new screenshot(s) to go before and then select "Project | Insert Screenshots". There are also other options to add/insert images or blank slides. 15. How can I link demos together?Demos can be linked together by using the URL function found in the menu "Slide | Insert Slide Action". Just type in the location as a relative path (/demo/demoname.swf) and the demo will be opened directly after the specific slide. If the demo is in the same folder, just type the file name. 16. Can I import PowerPoint slides into TurboDemo?Yes, it is possible. To do so requires each PowerPoint slide to be exported as a bitmap and then imported into your TurboDemo project. Alternatively you can run your PowerPoint presentation and capture each slide as it appears. Unfortunately text animations within your presentation are not able to be captured. For this functionality and for a quick "single click" capture we recommend you use our ALLCapture product. 17. How do I create a transparent pause button? This functionality is available in all versions of TurboDemo but the instructions can differ. In version 7.0 or later, the creation of a transparent pause button is made very simple. Insert a pause button onto your slide, right mouse click on it and select "Make Invisible". To make it visible again, right mouse click and unselect "Make Invisible". Please view our detailed information section for instructions for version 6.5 or earlier by clicking on the "i" button below. If you wish to upgrade to the latest version of TurboDemo please click here. 18. Which features are offered in the Standard and Professional versions?TurboDemo Standard provides less interactivity as the Professional version and your projects can only be exported as SWF and animated GIF formats. TurboDemo Professional provides all the features found in our trial version but without limitation. To see a more detailed comparison of these and our other TurboDemo versions click here. 19. What are the minimum system requirements required to run TurboDemo?TurboDemo requires:
20. How can I upload videos to YouTube?YouTube accepts a wide range of video file formats such as .WMV, .AVI, .MOV and .MPG transferred from most digital cameras, camcorders and mobile phones. At first sight, TurboDemo does not support these formats, however YouTube seamlessly accepts our ASF format. We've found that files converted from .wmv to one of the other formats our webpage accepts generally have a lower playback quality than other file formats. If you have your source video in a format other than a .wmv file, you may want to encode directly to MPEG4 (DivX, Xvid, SVQ3) at 640x480 resolution, with 64k Mono MP3 Audio. If you have a source .wmv in high bitrate and larger resolution you may want to convert to MPEG4 at full resolution and then resizing to 320x240 using a high quality resizing algorithm - this can help reduce the number of artifacts you end up with. |
